H.E. Dr. Obaid Ali Al Modaf
President, University of Jeddah, Professor of Sociology
Dr. Obaid is a highly respected academic leader and professor of sociology with over 25 years of experience in higher education, academic accreditation, and social research. He currently serves as the Vice President of the University of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al Modaf’s academic background is rooted in Sociology, with degrees from both the United States and Saudi Arabia: Ph.D. in Sociology from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, USA (2003). His doctoral research focused on “Attitudes toward the Effects of Privatization on the Employment System: A Study of Undergraduate College Students in Saudi Arabia.” He completed his Master of Arts in Sociology in 1999 at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, USA. For his master’s thesis, he explored “Consumption and Social Class: A Comparative Analysis of Consumption Patterns across Different Social Classes.”
