Dr Chara Makri is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at MBSC. She holds a PhD in Engineering and an MPhil with distinction in Industrial Systems, Manufacturing and Management from the Institute for Manufacturing at Cambridge University in the UK. She earned her BSc in Management Science & Technology from the Athens University of Economics and Business in Greece. Her research is qualitative in nature and focuses on operations management.
Prior to joining the college, she spent about two and a half years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Digital Build Britain (CDBB) at Cambridge University, where she was also the Delivery Manager of the UK’s National Digital Twin (NDT) Program. During her time in CDBB she played a pivotal role in liaising between the UK government, academic institutions and policy makers in order to support the delivery of the NDT Program. The program was a key step in the digital transformation of the infrastructure and construction sectors in the UK.
Before embarking on her academic career, Dr Makri spent almost 6 years working in industry, mainly in operations in General Mills Inc. and Kraft Foods Inc., among others.
