Profile

Dr. Rhea Elizabeth George is an Instructional Assistant Professor in Economics, with over 12 years of international experience across teaching, consultancy, and the establishment of strategic partnerships in Higher Education in the UK, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia. She earned her MSc in Money, Banking and Finance, and her PhD in Economics from Lancaster University in the UK, with her doctoral thesis focusing on the dynamics of commodity prices, comovements, and financial contagion.

During her 8-year tenure in the Saudi Arabian Higher Education sector, Rhea played a pivotal role in forging strategic partnerships between academia, the private sector, and government entities in Riyadh. Her background also includes a few years in Investment Banking before her transition to academia.

Rhea’s research interests currently lie in sustainable development, particularly examining financial inclusion, female entrepreneurial activity, and commodity prices. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UN WTO) in Spain, contributing to one of their global initiatives.

With a fervent dedication to education, Rhea is recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK and is a member of the Aurora (Women’s Leadership) community accredited by HEA, UK. At MBSC, she imparts her knowledge in Economics and Strategy to students in the Executive MBA (EMBA) and Masters in Finance (MIF) programs.
