Dr. Rhea Elizabeth George is an economist and educator with over 12 years of international experience across teaching, consultancy, and the establishment of strategic partnerships in higher education in the UK, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia. Dr. George earned her PhD in Economics from Lancaster University, UK, specializing in commodity price volatility and its effects on portfolio hedging across developed and emerging markets. She also holds an MSc in Money, Banking, and Finance from Lancaster University.
Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of courses in economics and finance at leading institutions, including MBSC, DCU Business School in Ireland, and Lancaster University. Dr. George has previously worked in the Financial Services sector as a Research Economist and consulting econometrician.
She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE UK) and an Aurora Champion (Women’s Leadership Programme in Ireland and the UK), advocating for women’s leadership in the higher education sector. Passionate about sustainability and education, she aims to continue making impactful contributions to economics education, education for sustainable development, and advancing research on sustainability and social development.
At MBSC, she imparts her expertise in Economics and Sustainability to students in the Executive MBA (EMBA), Master in Management (MIM), and Master in Finance (MIF) programs.
